Freeze Plug Heaters are used to heat the engine fluids of gas and diesel vehicles to ensure quicker winter starts and reduce engine wear in cold weather. The heater is operated using standard household AC power and the heat generated is distributed throughout the engine by the convective flow of the warmed coolant. Highest rated; most efficient type of heater on the market today. The V-Loc(TM) locking system provides quick; trouble-free installation. Plated stamped steel & forged brass adapters with copper heating elements for maximum life and efficiency.
Engineered to provide quality heating solutions, the highly regarded Zerostart® brand products keep automotive, light to medium trucks, off-road and power generation equipment performing at top levels in challenging weather conditions. We continually strive to meet our customers needs through the combined development of products and production systems for OEM and Aftermarket clients.
What's the difference between an immersion heater and a freeze plug heater?
There is no difference. Both describe a heater that is used to warm the engine coolant in the block. A freeze plug uses the V-Loc system to lock the heater into position in the block by tightening the clamps against the wall of the engine. An immersion heater threads into the engine block.
How long can I plug in the block heater?
To pre warm your vehicle, the block heater should be plugged in at least 3-4 hours. There is nothing detrimental about leaving it plugged in overnight or longer.
